So great is the bench strength at the club, Niasse made his debut at full-back.

"That's a bit different but then, I enjoy sprinting and just move inside - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I warn my defender 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to keep attacking.

"That running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

'Surreal Feeling

Along with the forward's six scores on debut, Stephen Ireland has netted eight in three games for Wythenshawe, while George Boyd scored five on his first appearance and Joleon Lescott, a centre-half by position, notched a triple in one match up front.

The team are top of the Premier Tier with three victories from 3 and a GD of +19.

Paul Barrow, thirty-eight, who features on the wing for the opposition, came up against former Wigan defender Maynor Figueroa on the weekend - and had to tell his young son who Emile Heskey was.

"It was spreading like a rumor they had these former top-flight stars," said the player.

"I felt I was a bit starstruck playing against Figueroa to be honest.

"Even Heskey came on and he's has 60-odd English caps.

"Our side competed well for a good twenty minutes but then we had a player sent off and it was hard.

"Our group really haven't stopped chatting about it - I was phoning my mother and brother on the way home.

"They were all friendly, shaking our hands after the game - it was like facing a group of regular fellas.

"Now we can't wait for the return fixture."
