Major Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes succeed nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
